NOTE TO PARENTS

REGISTRATION PROCESS

The first step is to complete the online form. You will then receive an email confirming that your form has been submitted for processing. You will be prompted to schedule an intake interview with the director. Interviews generally take place during regular business hours. Teens are able to choose a date and time that works for them. Parents are welcome to be on the call as well.

After your teen has completed his or her interview and the registration form has been processed, you will receive an email informing you whether your teen has been accepted into the program.  CTeen will only accept teens it deems a proper fit for the program; we reserve the right to reject any applicant whom we deem not to be a good match for this type of travel program.

TEENS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

CTeen may not be able to cater to teens with special medical needs. If your teen has medical needs or is under a physician's care for any reason, please contact our office prior to enrollment.

PARTICIPATING IN A TRAVEL PROGRAM

By registering for the CTeen Israel Journey, your teen is making a commitment to fully participate in a group travel program where schedule, group participation, and spirit are crucial to the success of the experience. We expect our campers to remain with the group at all times. There will be plenty of room for personal exploration and relaxation.

MORNING SCHEDULE

Each morning, before leaving the hotel for the trips of the day, there will be a 45-minute learning session and group prayer. Trip participants are divided into small groups and the program is facilitated by the trip leader and counselors. Classes will address an array of core Jewish themes and values. No previous knowledge is necessary, however all teens are required to participate.

PROGRAM ITINERARY

Confirmed itineraries for the CTeen Israel Journey program will be emailed to all parents one month prior to departure. Please note that even the confirmed itinerary is subject to change due to weather, security, or other considerations. We will do our best to notify parents in advance if changes are necessary.

EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION

Parents will be provided with a dedicated emergency hotline which will forward to the trip coordinators while the group is in Israel. This emergency phone number will be available 24/6, regardless of location. The emergency number is ONLY meant to be used in the event of a true emergency.

COMMUNICATION

All non-emergency inquiries should be directed to our main office. The CTeen office will be open throughout the summer from 9:00 a.m. EST to 5:00 p.m. EST from Monday through Friday. Feel free to email us at any time at summer@cteen.com.

FRIENDS & FAMILY UPDATES DURING THE TRIP

CTeen will post photos and videos of our adventures on our Facebook page, Facebook.com/JewishTeens, enabling family and friends to take part in the fun as it happens.

LODGING

In Israel the group will lodge in hotels. There will be one night of camping in Bedouin-style tents. We will periodically rotate the rooming assignments to provide a better opportunity for teens to meet new friends, as well as to enhance the group dynamics.

ADDITIONAL EXPENSES

Sleeping accommodations, meals, in-trip transportation, medical insurance, and all program activities are covered by the core program tuition. The only need for additional monies is for optional snacks, souvenirs, and gifts to be purchased at your teen’s discretion. We estimate that $50 per week is more than sufficient to cover all such purchases. It is the camper’s responsibility to safeguard and use these monies appropriately.
